My Story

My name is Annabelle, if you haven’t guessed, and I am in eighth grade. I really like penguins, and I have liked them since I was little, which was the inspiration for my logo. About four or five years ago, I started selling flowers in front of my house. We live in the suburbs of Chicago, in a town called Oak Park, and there is a lot of foot traffic, but there is room to have a garden with lots of flowers. I got a little table and sold them in front of my house. I liked doing it, and it brought in a lot of profit. I continued doing it after that.

I learned how to crochet a year or two after the start of my flower stand from the help of Woobles kit, and made Pierre the Penguin. I thought that it was cool, and I then went and got another kit to try. It was too hard, and I put it away and never finished it. I picked up crochet again two years after that. I learned new skills, and relearned old ones. I made a duck! It was really bad, but I still loved it. After that I made another duck, and then another one, each one getting better than the last. I got more yarn and expanded on my skills. Suddenly, in the span of one school year I had gone from really bad at crocheting to advanced. I now run a business, with a little assistance from my parents, selling my crocheted things. I really hope you enjoy them!
